So how is it still possible to name our favorite language? JS, ECMAScript, may be Mocha? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I'm not sure what you mean - the colloquial name is JavaScript, but because Oracle holds the trademark (or copyright, I can't ever keep those straight), the official name is ECMAScript.

I mean, what is the correct name for this language? JavaScript, ECMAScript or whatever? Your answer shed light on this dark question for me, thank you! In other words, if Iā€™m talking about a JavaScript somewhere between classes with friends, will a passing professor be able to make an academic remark to me and correct me from JavaScript to ECMAScript? Right?
